What is muay thai?
Muay Thai is a combat sport and martial art originating from Thailand that uses stand-up striking and clinching techniques. It is known for its heavy use of punches, kicks, knee strikes, and elbow strikes, making it a highly physical and intense form of self-defense. Muay Thai is also known as "The Art of Eight Limbs" because of its utilization of the fists, shins, knees, and elbows to strike opponents. It has become popular worldwide as a form of exercise and competition, with many professional fighters incorporating techniques from Muay Thai into their training regimen.
DO i need any prior experience?
Not at all! We have people training at all levels, from beginner to professional. We recommend everyone start with the fundamentals class to gauge their level.
Do I need to register for my first class?
Though it would be helpful if you message us before your first class just so we know you’re attending, prior registration is not needed.
do i need to bring anything to my first class?
If you have any type of Muay Thai or boxing gloves, bring them! Otherwise, wear comfortable workout clothes and bring water.
Gloves and shin guards are required for the Advanced Muay Thai class.
What training gear should I get?
Please consult with us on what the best gloves and additional gear may be best for you. We generally recommend anything by Fairtex or Hayabusa.
Do I have to spar?
Sparring is not mandatory - we recommend members gauge their own comfort level and consult with the head trainer before sparring.
We reserve sparring for members of the Advanced Muay Thai class. Please see our schedule for exact times.
